For children
The Palace's grand state rooms, the mediaeval gate at the Tre Kronor Museum and the crowns in the Treasury are just a few of the exciting things for children to see. Our younger visitors will particularly enjoy activity trails.
Activity trails for children
Collect an image map from the front desk, and turn a tour of the palace into a voyage of discovery. Children carry out the task by themselves, in company of adults, during ordinary opening hours. Once completed the task, return the sheet to claim a reward!
The activity is suitable for children of ages 5 to 12 (sometimes with a little help from accompanying adults).
Baby carriages are not permitted in the palace and for safety reasons, you are not allowed to leave them outside the palace entrances, see Practical information.
Animal safari
Wild animals are hiding in the large rooms of the palace. On the walls, on the ceilings, on objects and on furniture. Some are large, and some are small… Now it's a matter of finding them!
At home with...
The Royal Palace has been home to many royals over the years. They all commissioned various artists to paint or sculpt portraits in which they look particularly regal. Can you find them?
Extra programmes during school holidays
During the Easter, autumn and Christmas holidays, there will be additional events for children. During the school holidays, there will be tasks that children can carry out themselves (accompanied by an adult).
Programmes are advertised in menu Calendar.
